Ex-Arsenal Striker Akpom, FC Zürich's Odey On Target As Clubs Record Big Wins
Published: January 27, 2019Two Nigerian strikers Chuba Akpom and Stephen Odey were on target for their European clubs on Sunday, January 27.
In the Greek Super League, Arsenal product Akpom put in his best display since his summer move to PAOK from the Gunners after notching a brace and providing an assist in his side's 4-0 rout of OFI.
The Nigerian Federation target bundled home from close range in the 35th minute to double PAOK's advantage after Leo Jaba's inviting cross into the box.
Then he turned provider in the 65th minute, setting up his team's third goal scored by the ex-Brazil U20 star.
Ten minutes from time, Akpom closed the scoring with a brilliant goal from just outside the box, which took his tally to 4 goal from nine appearances in the Greek topflight.
It was also a good day for former Mountain of Fire star Stephen Odey, who registered his name on the scoresheet in the 36th minute as FC Zurich eased to a 4-1 win over Flora Tallinn in a friendly.
