Ex-Sunderland Star Maja Delighted To Join Bordeaux; Kalu Returns From Suspension
Published: January 28, 2019Former Sunderland striker Josh Maja has spoken of his happiness after sealing a move to French Ligue club Bordeaux this past weekend.
The 20-year-old's transfer to Les Girondins was not completed in time for him to make his competitive debut against Strasbourg on Saturday, January 26.
Maja stated on social media : ''Really delighted to sign for FC Girondins de Bordeaux (@girondins). Very excited for this new challenge, and the next phase in my career at this prestigious club.
''Would like to thank everyone for their continued support and warm wishes, I am truly grateful. #bordeaux''.
Meanwhile, Nigeria international Samuel Kalu is set to return to the Bordeaux squad on Wednesday after he was omitted from the team that faced Strasbourg due to accumulated bookings.
The winger picked up his fifth caution of the season in a 1-0 win vs Dijon on January 20, which triggered an automatic one-game ban.
