Efe Ambrose Could Play For Derby County U23s Against Bristol City
Former Celtic star Efe Ambrose could make his maiden appearance for Derby County teams when the U23s tackle Bristol City in the Premier League Cup on Sunday, February 24.

The Nigeria international was signed as a free agent last week and manager Frank Lampard has expressed concern about the defender's match fitness, so he has to build up his fitness by playing for the U23s.

Although Ambrose made 29 appearances this term for Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, his last competitive game was close to two months ago against Heart of Midlothian, meaning he's naturally match rusty.

Ambrose will compete with the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Richard Keogh and Jayden Bogle for the defensive positions in the first team.

Capable of playing as a central defender, right back and defensive midfielder, Ambrose hopes to bring his versatility and experience to the Rams who are pushing for a playoff spot.

Festy Ebosele and Aaron Eyoma are the other Nigeria-eligible players currently on books of Derby County.
