The Football Association of Ireland are in the driving seat for the services of highly-rated Cork City youngster Lauren Egbuloniu ahead of the Nigeria Football Federation.

The teenager has been named in the latest Republic of Ireland Women's U17 squad announced on Friday by head coach Colin Bell for the upcoming UEFA Elite Round in Scotland.

Egbuloniu is in line to add to her international caps when The Girls in Green face Norway (March 20), Germany (March 23) and Scotland March 26) as they bid to qualify for May's UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship taking place in Bulgaria.

Born June 2002, she played competitively for Ireland in the qualifying rounds of the U17 EURO, coming off the bench in matches against Wales and Serbia in October 2018 and would be hoping to make her full debut in the coming days.

Born to an Irish mom and Nigerian dad Livimus, Lauren Egbuloniu made her senior debut for Cork City in their WNL opener against Peamount last Saturday.

Norwich City's Adam Idah and goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu of Manchester City have been called up by manager Stephen Kenny for Republic of Ireland's UEFA U21 European Championships qualifier against Luxembourg on March 24.
