Rotherham Boss On New Goal-Getter Ajayi : He's Improved Over The Last 12 Months
Published: March 17, 2019Semi Ajayi will not be lacking confidence when he reports for international duty this week and will fancy his chances of making his full competitive debut for the Super Eagles when they clash with Seychelles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Originally a central defender, the former Arsenal U23 skipper has been deployed mainly as a defensive midfielder since the start of this year which has paid off for the Millers.
The Millers number 5 tallied his sixth goal in five games in his side's 2-1 loss to table toppers Norwich City on Saturday, and manager Paul Warne was delighted with his goalscoring contribution despite the loss.
''Semi’s brought us back into the game. He’s broken up play and he’s improved no-end over the last 12 months,'' Warne told Rotherham's official webpage.
“Billy Jones came on in midfield at QPR in midweek and just knows when to do certain things like break up play or give a cheeky foul away.''
