Seven-Game Unbeaten Run : Can Super Eagles Challenge For AFCON Trophy
Published: April 01, 2019
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are presently one of the best teams in Africa, thanks to Gernot Rohr who has brought discipline and dedication to the team.
Though the three-time African champions were far from impressive in Russia last year, Gernot Rohr's men remain a force to reckon with when it comes to African competitions.
The Super Eagles are yet to lose a game since their unfortunate 2-1 defeat to Argentina in Russia, winning five and drawing two of their last seven matches.
The West African side defeated Seychelles 3-0 in one of AFCON 2019 qualifiers and went on to defeat Libya both home and away, before recording two draws against South Africa and Uganda respectively.
Genort Rohr's men wrapped up their AFCON qualifying campaign on fine note as they thrashed Seychelles 3-1, and they recorded a confidence-boosting victory over Egypt last week in a friendly game at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
The lone-goal victory over Egypt, who will host this year's edition of the tournament, has raised many hopes that the Super Eagles are capable of winning the highly-coveted title in July.
Meanwhile, let's wait to see the teams the West African powerhouse will face in the group stage.

Super Eagles are definitely one of the favorites for the AFCON glory due to the quality of players in the team.
However, they must be wary of Senegal who qualified for the tournament by winning five games and just one draw.
Tunisia and Egypt are possible threats to Nigeria's hope of winning her fourth AFCON trophy.
