Dream Team VII Star Dennis On Target As Club Brugge Break Anderlecht Jinx
Published: April 05, 2019Club Brugge recorded their first away win at Anderlecht for more than two decades with a 3-2 victory in a Belgian First Division A playoff clash staged at Constant Vanden Stock on Thursday.
9 September 1998 was the date in the history books as the last time Brugge managed to beat their fierce rivals prior to yesterday's meeting.
Nigeria U23 international Emmanuel Dennis tallied his sixth goal of the season in the 34th minute, firing past the goalkeeper after the offside trap was broken.
The linesman had raised his flag for offside but the goal was given after VAR review.
A delighted Dennis posted on social media after the game : ''After 21 years finally we broke the curse. The goal is for you mum and dad. All glory to almighty God.''
Following their victory vs Anderlecht, Club Brugge are second on the table with 34 points, one behind leaders Racing Genk.
