Otubanjo Makes Late Cameo For LASK With Chelsea, Man Utd Scouts Watching
Published: April 07, 2019Former Golden Eaglets striker Yusuf Otubanjo was introduced in the 90th minute as his team LASK suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday evening.
Thus, he did not get enough time to fully show off his qualities to the top European scouts who watched the match at TGW Arena (Pasching).
According to krone.at, representatives from Manchester United and Chelsea were in attendance as well as Fiorentina and Bayern Munich from Italy and Germany respectively.
The identities of the players the scouts came to watch have not been disclosed by the Austrian newspaper.
Otubanjo has contributed to 12 goals (5 goals, 7 assists) in 23 appearances across all competitions this season for LASK, who are second in the Bundesliga with 26 points.
A member of the Nigeria U17 squad at the 2009 Fifa U17 World Cup, Otubanjo lists FC Blau Weiss Linz, MSK Zilina, FC Juniors OO, SC Rheindorf Altach and Red Bull Salzburg as his previous clubs.
