The Curse That Was Broken After Super Eagles Star Uche Made His Rayo Vallecano Debut
Published: April 08, 2019Nigeria international Uche Agbo finally made his long awaited debut for Rayo Vallecano on Saturday following his introduction in the 73rd minute of their 2-0 win against Valencia at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas.
The defensive midfielder broke a personal record after helping Rayo Vallecano beat Valencia as it was the first time he had a winning debut for his club since moving to Europe in 2014.
Though the Super Eagle was once on the books of Udinese and Watford, he never played a competitive game for both clubs.
On Uche's league debut for Granada back in the 2014-2015 season, Granada were beaten 2-1 by Levante. He was in action for six minutes after coming off the bench.
He also ended up on the losing side when he made his debut for Granada II in the Segunda B against San Fernando CD on April 6, 2014.
After that, things got better for Uche as he helped Standard Liege secure a 1-1 draw with KV Mechelen in his first game in the Jupiler Pro League on July 30, 2017.
