CAF Reveals The Three Key Golden Eaglets Players To Watch At U17 AFCON
Published: April 12, 2019The U17 Africa Cup of Nations which serves as qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil begins in Tanzania this weekend with five-time world champions Nigeria facing the hosts, Angola and Uganda in the group stage.
As part of their lead-up to the tournament, the official website of Confederation of African Football has selected three top Golden Eaglets stars to watch during the tournament in Tanzania.
However, one of the best players in the Nigeria U17 squad, Samson Tijani , who was named Most Valuable Player in the zonal qualifiers in Niger, has been left out.
1) Shedrack Tanko : The 2003-born is on the books of Ambassador Football Academy. Has been an integral part of the team since its formation. He has good speed and often joins the attack when the need arises.
2) Olatomi Alfred Olaniyan : A super regular in the squad, he was a key member of the WAFU-UFOA Zone B winning team. The Sidos FC starlet has been described as the engine room of the Golden Eaglets.
3) Shuaib Abdulrazaq : The OMA Football Academy midfielder was recently added to the roster after impressing in trial matches. Predominantly an attacking midfielder, he is also comfortable as a defensive midfielder.
