U17 AFCON : Golden Eaglets Coaches Forcing Injured 'Little Messi' To Play Against Guinea
Published: April 23, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Sidos FC wonderkid Akinkunmi Amoo is an injury worry for the Golden Eaglets ahead of the semifinal showdown with Guinea at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Golden Eaglets medics have not been able to pinpoint the exact nature of his injury and they have claimed he is just being lazy and should have completed the matches against Tanzania and Uganda.
Having said that, this website has been informed that he is nursing a suspected ankle injury.
Coach Manu Garba and his assistants are forcing Amoo to play tomorrow's game, arguing that he is only carrying a knock.
Nicknamed 'Little Messi' by his teammates, the attacking midfielder participated in the national team's final workout on Tuesday.
Tomorrow's meeting against Guinea begins at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam at 1600 hours local time, which is 1400 hours in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football has dismissed the petition against Guinea, who had been accused by Senegal of fielding two non-eligible players.
CAF stated that it takes into account the results of the MRI tests carried out on the players before the competition and rejected Senegal's request to disqualify the Guineans.
