As part of their preparations for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup, the Flying Eagles have won their first test game, beating the U19 team of VFR Aalen 3-1 on Wednesday evening.

Although all the players in camp traveled with the team to Stuttgart, the likes of Korede Adedoyin (Everton), Jayden Bennetts (Watford) and Daniel Toma were not in the match day squad.

As previously reported, it was 1-1 at the interval with Henry Offia's goal cancelled out by the home team.

The Swedish-based midfielder continues to push for a World Cup roster spot, opening the scoring after he was played through on goal by Tom Dele-Bashiru.

In the second half, Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh produced the spectacular, dribbling past two VFR Aalen players before slotting home to make it 2-1. It was his first goal in Nigeria colours albeit in a friendly.

Rosenborg BK defender Igoh Ogbu gave the Flying Eagles a 3-1 lead when he poked the ball home after a goalmouth scramble following a corner.

The Paul Aigbogun-led side were held to a 3-3 draw by SC Freiburg in their first preparatory game and lost 2-1 to Saudi Arabia last weekend in their second test game.
