Ndidi Joins Rashford, Alexander-Arnold, 8 Others In Premier League Young Team Of The Season
Published: May 13, 2019Wilfred Ndidi has been named to the Premier League Young Team of the Season by Whoscored.com.
The football statistics website has picked the top performing youngsters of the campaign in a best XI of those aged 21 or under back on the very first day in August.
To be eligible to be included on the list, players must make at least ten appearances over the course of the season.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Ndidi started in central midfield along with Leicester City teammate James Maddison, while Richarlison (Everton) and Dwight McNeil (Burnley) played as the right and left midfielders respectively.
The highest rated player named in the starting XI, Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.36) beat Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the right-back position, while Manchester United's Marcus Rashford and Diogo Jota of Wolves started in attack.
With an average rating of 7.22, Ndidi was the best rated midfielder ahead of Maddison.
The Nigeria international was the top tackler (144) in the Premier League in the just concluded season and racked up the third highest interceptions (83).
