Trabzonspor issue medical bulletin on experienced winger Anthony Nwakaeme
Published: April 10, 2021Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor have explained why Anthony Nwakaeme was substituted during the second half of their 1-1 draw with Kayserispor on Tuesday, April 6.
The onetime Super Eagles invitee registered a game-tying assist in the 29th minute to help his team salvage a draw.
In a medical bulletin by Trabzonspor, Op. Dr. Hakan çelik made a statement about the health condition of Nwakaeme.
"Muscle strain and edema were detected in the MRI of Anthony Nwakaeme, who left the game due to the pain he felt in the back muscle of his right thigh, and the treatment of our football player was started," Celik stated.
Nwakaeme is expected to sit out Trabzonspor's Super Lig clash versus Rizespor scheduled to kickoff in the coming hours.
The experienced winger, who is one of the most consistent Nigerian players in Europe over the last five seasons, has scored 6 goals and provided seven assists from 27 league games this term.
