Report : Wife of Victor Moses blocks ex-Chelsea star from returning to Spartak Moscow
Published: June 28, 2022Former Chelsea star Victor Moses has yet to report for pre-season training at Spartak Moscow.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner is training on his own after going AWOL at the Russian Premier League giants.
Spartak Moscow have brought out a press release stating that they are investigating the circumstances of Moses's decision not to report for pre-season training despite having a valid contract for the next two seasons.
The 31-year-old joined Spartak on a permanent deal last summer, ending a nine-year association with Chelsea in the process.
According to fresh reports in the Russian press, Moses has not yet showed up at Spartak Moscow's training camp because his wife blocked him from returning to the club, among other reasons.
"Moses explains to Spartak that there are several reasons why he cannot yet return to the club's location," a source told Championat.com.
"One of the reasons is the opinion of the family. The footballer's wife does not want to let him go back to Russia.
"The club and the player remain in touch. The decision on the future of the midfielder has not been made."
Moses intended to return to the Premier League three months ago but the transfer was not allowed to happen.
