Former Super Eagles left back Ifeanyi Udeze has backed Nigeria's U-17 women's national team, Flamingos to have a memorable FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India which starts on October 11.
The Flamingos will face Germany in their first World Cup game and Udeze who himself did not feature for Nigeria at the cadet World Cup but however played in the UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup hosted by Turkey held in 1997 spoke on Brila FM, Lagos.
"The team's first game is against Germany. That will not be a easy one but I like the confidence shown by the team, coaches and players.
"They have been saying the right things and are also preparing very well in Turkey for the tournament.
"Let them take this same confidence to the tournament in India. I wish them the best," Udeze further stated.
The Nigerian side defeated a Galatasaray team 3-1 in a preparatory friendly game in Kocaeli on Friday.
The Flamingos will play New Zealand in the second group game on October 14 before the October 17 meeting with Chile.
