Chelsea-owned Anglo-Nigerian winger labelled 'important player' by Huddersfield Town coach
Published: October 21, 2022
Chelsea loanee of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin has been labeled an 'important player' by Huddersfield Town manager
Mark Fotheringham.
Fotheringham has not been able to call upon the services of the England youth international since he took over the managerial reigns at the tail end of September 2022, with the winger missing five straight matches against Reading, Luton Town, Hull City, Rotterham United and Preston North End due to fitness issues.
Anjorin is battling with an undisclosed illness and the Terriers boss emphasized that he's hoping to have him back in the fold soon, adding that he's one of the players he's looking forward to working with.
The 20-year-old is unlikely to play a part in Saturday's Championship clash against Chuba Akpom's Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Providing a squad update before the trip to Middlesbrough, Fotheringham was quoted as saying by Yorkshire Live : "Tino is such an important player to the group and I've had a lot of conversations with him the last few weeks and it's frustrating I've not had these lads on the training pitch for even one training session. I'm really excited to work with these players."
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, Anjorin started six of the nine matches played by Huddersfield Town in the Championship, and was substituted in on two occasions, scoring two goals.
