Nigerians have their say : Mixed reactions trail Saka's display in England's draw v USA
Published: November 26, 2022
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was in action for the Three Lions of England in their barren draw with the United States Men's National Team on Friday night.
Southgate's men were held to a 0-0 draw by the United States in a Group B game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup played at Al Bayt Stadium.
The 21-year-old Saka scored twice in the 6-2 over Iran Men's National Team on Monday, earning the Man of The Match Award in the process.
Against the Americans, Saka came close to breaking the deadlock just before halftime but his shot spooned over the crossbar following a cutback from Luke Shaw.
One of the lively players for England in the first half, Saka was not as influential in the second half.
Southgate brought on Marcus Rashford to replace the onetime Nigeria Football Federation target with twelve minutes left on the clock.
Mixed reactions trailed his performance against the Americans, with some Nigerian fans praising him while others were critical.
