Liverpool and Chelsea interested in former Arsenal midfielder of African descent
Published: December 07, 2022
Valencia star of Ghanaian descent Yunus Musah is reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League after putting himself in the shop window at the 2022 World Cup.
According to 90min.com, Liverpool and Chelsea have made contact with Musah's representatives to register their interest in the player.
Arsenal have been monitoring the development of the midfielder since he left their academy in 2019 and a return to the Emirates Stadium in future cannot be ruled out in its entirety.
The Gunners were keen to keep hold of Musah and offered him a scholarship but he turned down the deal before switching to Valencia in search of first team football.
The 20-year-old has a contract with Valencia until June 2026 and has a termination clause of 100 million euros.
Reports indicate that Valencia have no intention of parting with their player, so they would do everything possible to keep him among their ranks, Including offering him a new contract.
Musah was eligible to represent Ghana, Italy and England at international level before becoming cap-tied to his country of birth United States.
He started all the four matches played by the United States in Qatar, helping them reach the round of sixteen where they lost to the Netherlands.
