'Further demonstrates why he's so in-demand' - Crystal Palace hail Osimhen after 'sensational' goal
Published: December 11, 2022
Napoli came from behind to beat Premier League side Crystal Palace 3-1 in a mid-season friendly on Sunday.
Five youngsters of Nigerian descent were on parade at the Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort (Belek) in Turkey, with Victor Osimhen starting for the Serie A outfit, while Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, Malcolm Ebiowei and Tayo Adaramola were in action for the Eagles.
In the 33rd minute, Olise provided the assist for the opening goal of the match as the winger slipped in Wilfried Zaha, who found the net with a nice finish.
Crystal Palace's lead lasted only three minutes as the in-form Napoli marksman Osimhen scored a 'sensational equaliser'.
In their match report, the London club once again praised the Napoli number 9 and highlighted that he's attracting interest from several clubs.
Palace wrote on their official website : "Their lead lasted just three minutes, however, as Osimhen scored a goal that will only further demonstrate why he is so in-demand.
"Latching onto the ball in the penalty area, he flicked it over Will Hughes’ head, turned sharply and volleyed into the bottom corner."
Italy international Giacomo Raspadori was the star of the show in the second half, scoring a brace to secure a win for the Serie A table toppers.
Napoli will return to competitive action on January 4, 2023 when they take on Inter Milan in the Serie A.
