FA Youth Cup : Oyedele on target for Manchester United against Ozoh's Crystal Palace
Published: December 11, 2022
Defending champions Manchester United are through to the fourth round of the prestigious FA Youth Cup following a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday evening.
Eagles midfielder David Ozoh went the full ninety and the same applies to Manchester United defensive midfielder Maxi Oyedele.
Poland youth international Oyedele trained with United's first team in Spain this past week but had to return to the United Kingdom to link up with the U18 squad in order to feature in the FA Youth Cup match with Crystal Palace.
Manchester United were leading 2-0 within twelve minutes with Oyedele pouncing on a loose ball and slotting home to break the deadlock in the ninth minute and Manni Norkett doubled the advantage three minutes later.
The Polish-Nigerian starlet also found the net in the same stage of the competition in the 2021-2022 season.
In the second half, Bell pulled one back for Palace but Mather restored United's two-goal cushion.
Manchester United will face either Stoke City or Blackpool in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in January 2023.
