Super Eagles hopeful scores seventh league goal in Burnley's 3-0 win v QPR
Published: December 12, 2022
Southampton loanee Nathan Tella is having an outstanding season on loan at Championship club Burnley.
The Super Eagles hopeful has now tallied seven goals in the second tier of English football after getting on the score sheet for the Clarets in their 3-0 rout of Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road Stadium on Sunday.
The visitors started brightly as a brilliant free kick from Jóhann Berg Gudmundsson gave them the lead in the nineteenth minute.
The Clarets doubled their lead through Ian Maatsen, who volleyed home a rebound in the second minute of first half stoppage time.
With nineteen minutes left on the clock, Tella made it 3-0 when he rounded the goalkeeper and finished from a tight angle.
Since landing at Burnley, he has featured in every single game played in the Championship, twenty in total, and has scored against six different teams.
Tella joined the Clarets on a season-long deal in August but Southampton have an option to recall the winger in the January transfer window.
