Arsenal make transfer decision on talented Anglo-American-Nigerian striker
Published: December 13, 2022
Arsenal have reportedly made a transfer decision on talented England U21 international of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun.
The Hale End Academy graduate is being linked with a return to the Gunners in the January transfer window to act as cover for Gabriel Jesus who got injured while on international duty with Brazil at the ongoing World Cup and faces several weeks on the sidelines.
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that no discussions are ongoing now between Arsenal and Reims for Balogun to be recalled in January.
The 21-year-old is expected to see out the season at Reims before a possible return to the Emirates Stadium next summer.
Born in New York, Balogun has taken the Ligue 1 by storm, scoring eight goals in fifteen appearances while contributing two assists despite featuring for a team who are four points outside the relegation places.
Statistically, only Paris Saint-Germain superstars Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe, Lorient's Terem Moffi, Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette and Lille's Jonathan David have been more prolific than the Anglo-American-Nigerian center forward since the start of the season.
Balogun is under contract with Arsenal until June 30, 2025.
