Chukwuemeka involved as Chelsea return to training at Cobham
Published: December 14, 2022
Chelsea have returned to training at their Cobham training base after returning from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates earlier this week.
In preparation for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth, the first team players trained on Wednesday.
According to the official website of the Blues, England U20 international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka was among the youngsters involved in the training session.
The 19-year-old sat out the friendly against Aston Villa because he was short on match fitness and the plan is to get him up to scratch before the Premier League restart.
Chukwuemeka trained with Denis Zakaria, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edou Mendy who are back amongst the group after their commitments with their respective nations at the 2022 World Cup.
Since his arrival from Aston Villa in the summer, the Anglo-Nigerian has managed three appearances, all in the Premier League, where he totaled 43 minutes.
Chukwuemeka has started two matches for Chelsea's development squad and was on international duty with England U20s in September, playing three games at the Costa Càlida Supercup which took place in Spain.
