Nwaneri misses out on Arsenal Goal of the Month to Vivianne Miedema
Published: December 16, 2022
Promising England U17 international of Nigerian descent Ethan Nwaneri has missed out on Arsenal Goal of the Month award for November 2022.
The official website of the Gunners confirmed on Friday that Arsenal Women striker Vivianne Miedema claimed the gong for her brilliant header against Juventus in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
Nwaneri didn't finish in the top three positions, with Laura Wienroither’s striker versus Manchester United finishing second and Steph Catley's goal straight from a corner against Leicester City coming third.
Nwaneri's low drive for the U18s in their 3-3 draw against Manchester United in a Premier League Cup match on November 5 had been nominated for the monthly prize.
Other nominees were Catalin Cirjan, Eddie Nketiah, Martin Odegaard and Amario Cozier-Duberry.
Nwaneri was in Arsenal's traveling squad for a warm weather training camp in Dubai this month and featured in friendlies against Lyon and Italian champions AC Milan.
The Hale End product becomes eligible to sign a scholarship deal with Arsenal on July 1, 2023.
