Confirmed team news : Porto's Super Eagles star Sanusi not available for selection v Arouca
Published: December 28, 2022
Super Eagles fullback Zaidu Sanusi will not be available for selection when Porto take on Arouca in their final game this calender year and this is confirmed.
The left-back has not received the all-clear from Porto's medical team to return to action after failing a fitness test ahead of the Primeira Liga clash at the Estádio Do Dragão on Wednesday night.
Sanusi has yet to resume group training ever since he suffered a tear in the adductor muscle during the second half of Porto's 2-1 win over Atlético Madrid in a Champions League game on November 1, 2022.
The 25-year-old is now set to miss his eighth consecutive game in all competitions, with four in the Portuguese topflight.
Providing a squad update, Porto manager Sérgio Conceição was quoted as saying by the club's official website : "Zaidu will not be available yet".
Sanusi started seven of the first eleven matches played by Porto in the Primeira Liga this season.
Porto have won four, drawn one and lost one in their last six league matches and currently sit second in the table with 29 points from 13 matches.
