Anglo-Nigerian striker misses out on Chelsea Goal of the Month award to Mason Mount
Published: December 30, 2022
Anglo-Nigerian striker Louis Flower has missed out on Chelsea's Goal of the Month award for December 2022.
Through their official website, Chelsea have confirmed that England international Mason Mount's stunning strike against Bournemouth has been voted as the club's December Goal of the Month.
Flower had been nominated for his brilliant goal in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Aston Villa in an U18 Premier League game on December 3.
Other players shortlisted for the Goal of the Month award included Lauren James, Guro Reiten and Sam Kerr, who was double nominated.
Flower's strike did not finish in the top three as Sam Kerr's strike against PSG came in second, while Lauren James was just behind in third place.
Aged 18, Flower joined Chelsea at U13 level from Cambridge United, rising through the ranks before signing his first professional contract in October 2021.
His other goal this season was against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Youth League.
