Vieira reveals what pleased him about Eze, Olise in Crystal Palace win v Bournemouth
Published: December 31, 2022
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira was delighted with the performance of two former Super Eagles invitees Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise in his side's 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.
Jordan Ayew and Eze scored from two corners as the Eagles ended the year with a win, with France U21 international Olise providing the assists for both goals.
The versatility of the two Anglo-Nigerian players have been very useful to Crystal Palace this season as they are capable of playing in central midfield and on the wing.
Vieira has said that he has no doubt about the quality of Eze and Olise who played key roles in the victory.
The former Arsenal captain hailed the quality of Olise's delivery and highlighted that Eze has the ability to strike the ball from distance.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Vieira said : "We have our goalkeeper coach look at the organisation of the opposition team and he had some ideas about how we could score goals.
"Today is good to score those goals because we have a quality with Michael on the ball and with Ebs [Eberechi Eze] who can shoot outside the box. So today it worked."
Crystal Palace occupy the eleventh position in the standings with 22 points from sixteen matches.
