Versatile Super Eagles defender linked with Leeds United again
Published: January 06, 2023Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has been linked with a transfer to Premier League club Leeds United again by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport.
Leeds United were credited with an interest in the Chelsea academy product last January but a deal did not come to fruition.
Per the report from the Turin-based newspaper, a return to the Premier League could be on the cards this month, with Leeds United rumored to be in pole position for his services.
Aina has entered the last six months of his contract with Torino and the Maroons could be forced to move him on if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal, rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
Torino are locked in talks with the player's camp about a new deal but negotiations have not been finalized.
Aina would be an intriguing option for Premier League clubs as he is capable of playing several positions in defence and midfield, in addition to the fact that he is a homegrown player.
Since joining Torino, first on loan before the deal was made permanent, the 26-year-old has 2g/6a in 103 appearances.
