Chelsea reach agreement for the signing of Super Eagles-eligible player
Published: January 19, 2023English Premier League giants Chelsea and Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven are finalizing the details for the transfer of Super Eagles-eligible player Nonso Madueke.
According to transfer market guru, Fabrizio Romano in a Twitter update on Thursday evening, a verbal agreement is in place for the England U21 international of Nigerian descent to sign a long-term contract with Chelsea.
Madueke is strongly wanted by the Chelsea Board and is set to join the Londoners for a fee in the region of 35 million euros.
Talks for the Nigeria-eligible winger have never stopped according to the report despite the signing of Ukraine winger, Mykhailo Mudryk who seemed to be headed for Arsenal.
Madueke is classed as an U21 player and a homegrown player having spent the formative years of his career with Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur, so won't take up a spot on Chelsea's Premier League roster for the second half of the season.
PSV only recently sold Madueke's teammate, Cody Gakpo to Liverpool for a fee of €42m.
The 20-year-old Madueke has 20g/14a in eighty appearances across all competitions for PSV since making his professional debut.
