Published: January 31, 2023
With a statement on their official website, Cypriot First Division club Apollon Limassol have announced the signing of Barcelona-reared fullback Godswill Ekpolo from Swedish outfit Norrkoping.
The former Nigeria U23 international has signed a deal until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Ekpolo is a product of Barcelona's La Masia academy, where he spent eleven years before he was released in the summer of 2016.
He enjoyed relative success with the youth team as he helped the U19s win the UEFA Youth League in 2014, scoring four goals in ten appearances in the prestigious competition.
After leaving Barcelona, he played for Fleetwood Town (England) and Merida AD (Spain) before transferring to Swedish club BK Hacken, where he spent three years and made over one hundred appearances for the club.
In January 2022, Ekpolo transferred to Norrkoping, for whom he played thirty matches.
The Nigeria native has been assigned the number 2 jersey at Apollon Limassol.
