Man City winger Mebude battles Man Utd and Chelsea starlets, 5 others for PL2 POTM

Manchester City U21 winger Adedire Mebude has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January 2023.
The former Glasgow Rangers starlet started all the matches played by the Citizens in the Premier League 2 last month and directly participated in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists).
He got off to a scoring start in the development squad's first game of 2023, netting a brace and providing an assist as Manchester City thrashed Arsenal 6-0 at the Academy Stadium.
After firing blanks against Brighton & Hove and Leicester City, Mebude registered a goal and assist in a 5-0 rout of Crystal Palace to take his haul in the Premier League 2 to nine goals from fifteen appearances.
Last season, Mebude netted 12 times and registered 17 assists on his way to winning the U18s Players' Player of the Year award.
The other nominees are : Dominic Ballard (Southampton), Carlos Borges (Manchester City), Mason Burstow (Chelsea), Joe Hugill (Manchester United), Abu Kamara (Norwich City), Divin Mubama (West Ham United), and Mikki Van Sas (Manchester City).
The nominees were selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month.
The winner of the PL2 Player of the Month award will be announced next week.
