Former Fenerbahce winger Victor Moses prays for Turkish earthquake victims

2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner Victor Moses has offered his prayers for the victims and families of those who were affected by the earthquake that struck south-east Turkey and northern Syria.

 

Thousands of people are known to have died and the toll is expected to rise with many people unaccounted for and still buried under the rubble. 

 

Several Nigeria internationals including Ahmed Musa, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Chuks Akabueze, Aaron Samuel, Henry Onyekuru, Aminu Umar and Olarenwaju Kayode play for Turkish clubs. 

 

In a press release on Monday, the Nigerian Football Federation expressed sadness about the unfortunate earthquake in Kahramanmaras city of Turkey and confirmed that the Nigerian players based in Turkey are all fine.

 

Moses has a soft spot for Turkey, having represented Fenerbahce for one year, on loan from Premier League side Chelsea. 

 

The 32-year-old expressed his solidarity with the Turkish people and everyone affected by the earthquake, using prayer and red heart emojis, a sign to show that he cares.

Moses, who is close to returning to action after several months on the sidelines due to injury, scored five goals in 23 appearances for Fenerbahce.
