Published: February 12, 2023
Liverpool and Derby County shared the spoils with a 3-3 draw in an U18 Premier League fixture staged at Liverpool's Academy Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Elijah Gift played the full game for the Reds, while former Arsenal schoolboy Bayo Fapetu was also in action for the entire duration of the game for the Rams.
Left-back Riley Moloney and Fapetu earned the visitors an early 2-0 lead with goals in the 12th and 18th minutes.
The Anglo-Nigerian midfielder rose highest to power home a header past Liverpool goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek, taking his tally to three goals in thirteen appearances in the U18 Premier League in the process.
Liverpool did not give up and pulled one back through Kieran Morrison in the 28th minute but Brown restored the Rams' two-goal advantage seven minutes before halftime.
On the hour mark, Danns fired home a loose ball to make it 3-2 and salvaged a point when he converted from the spot in the third minute of stoppage time.
Born in London and eligible to represent the Nigerian and English youth teams, Fapetu was on the books of Arsenal for ten years, joining them in 2011 before signing a scholarship at Derby County.
