Published: February 19, 2023
Alex Iwobi has taken to social media to react to Everton's hard-fought 1-0 win over Leeds United in an English Premier League encounter at Goodison Park on Saturday.
It was a good omen for the Toffees when Seamus Coleman, of all people, opened the scoring in the 64th minute, assisted by Iwobi.
Everton have not lost any of the twenty eight matches in which Coleman has scored for the Toffees.
The defender's shot from an almost impossible angle beat the Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who was expecting a cross.
The win over fellow Premier League strugglers, Leeds United lifted Everton out of the relegation zone as they have now accumulated 21 points from twenty three matches, and six sisteenth in the table.
Iwobi pointed out the importance of the Toffees getting three points, tweeting : "Important 3."
The Hale End Academy product has mustered seven assists in this season's Premier League, bettered only by Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.
Everton, under Sean Dyche, have recorded two victories and kept two clean sheets to go with it in their last three Premier League games.
