Transfer market expert likens Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodriguez to Osimhen
Published: February 20, 2023Celebrated Italian transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullà has likened teenage Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodriguez to two top African players in Victor Osimhen and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The youngster has been identified as one for the future on the back of his impressive performances for Real Madrid's first team in cameos against Cacereño and Osasuna.
Rodriguez, who has represented Spain and Uruguay at youth levels, has caught the eye for Real Madrid Castilla, notching nine goals in 33 appearances following his transfer from Girona in 2020.
Pedullà underlined that the Uruguayan has some of the attributes of Osimhen as he is good in hold-up play and equally adept in aerial situations.
Pedullà wrote on his website : "Skilled in protecting the ball and being cold in front of goal, one of his strengths – given his high height – is his header.
"The 2004 class is a very interesting profile, a natural talent that can be perfected and improved with work. A task assigned to our Carlo Ancelotti who, by virtue of Benzema's conditions, can accelerate with the use of Rodriguez in the first team.
"He already made his debut for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey in the victory against Cacereño in early January. Probably a test before his introduction with greater consistency.
"As a striker he remembers (with due proportions) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Victor Osimhen."
Three days ago, Osimhen became the first Napoli player to score in seven consecutive Serie A matches in the three points for a win era after finding the net against Sassuolo.
