Pundit reveals Arsenal will be looking for a hefty fee for Super Eagles-eligible striker

Football pundit Dean Jones reckons that Arsenal will be looking for a hefty fee for Balogun if they decide to part company with the Super Eagles-eligible striker in the summer transfer window.

It has been claimed that the Gunners would accept a fee of more than 50 million pounds for the England U21 international of Nigerian descent.

Balogun has been starring for Stade de Reims since his arrival at the club last summer and it is the reason Arsenal will demand an astronomical transfer fee from his suitors.

The likes of AC Milan, Marseille and Villarreal have been credited with an interest in the Hale End Academy graduate.

With fifteen goals in 23 Ligue 1 matches, Balogun is the joint-top scorer in the division, an honour he shares with Lille's Jonathan David and PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The deal taking him to Stade de Reims did not come with an option to buy and The Red and Whites could be priced out of a deal to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

"I think right now £50 million is too much, but I can see why people within the club would believe that that could be his level and that should be what they're striving for if they're going to go and sell him," Jones said to Givemesport

Arsenal will make a decision on whether to keep, loan, or sell Balogun after the end of the current campaign.

The duo of Gabriel Jesus, who is recuperating from injury, and Eddie Nketiah could possibly be ahead of the Anglo-Nigerian in the pecking order of strikers, albeit manager Mikel Arteta would be keen to see him in action in pre-season.
