Peseiro reveals he's keeping tabs on Udinese star ahead of potential Super Eagles call-up
Published: March 11, 2023Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro has revealed that he is keeping tabs on Udinese striker Isaac Success ahead of a potential call-up to the Super Eagles.
Success, a FIFA U17 World Cup winner with the Golden Eaglets in 2013, has been in the international wilderness for more than four years, with his last appearance for the Super Eagles coming against Uganda in a friendly back in November 2018.
His poor form during his time with Watford prevented him from being invited to the national team.
But the BJ Foundation product has been enjoying a new lease of life since transferring to Udinese, with a goal involvement of nineteen (4 goals, 15 assists) in 52 appearances.
Success, himself, believes he deserves to be called up to the Super Eagles given his form in the competitive Italian Serie A.
Apart from Success, Peseiro is also monitoring the performances of fringe Super Eagles players, Cremonese's Cyriel Dessers and Empoli's Tyronne Ebuehi.
In quotes relayed by Sportitalia, Peseiro said : "We are observing him. To him and to many others in Serie A: Dessers, Ola Aina, Ebuehi, for example.
"We observe them all, then when we have to make the list, we will have to make choices and it will not be easy. Because luckily we have a lot of choice.
"But Success is there, among the players we have an eye on."
Peseiro has several options in attack, with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Terem Moffi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman in contention to be called up for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with Guinea-Bissau.
Since making his international debut against Senegal in March 2017, Success has earned four caps for the Super Eagles.
