'We've had dialogue' - USA coach holds talks with Arsenal's Super Eagles-eligible striker Balogun

Interim United States Men's National Team head coach, Anthony Hudson, has confirmed that he has spoken with Arsenal-owned forward, Folarin Balogun, on the switch of international allegiance to the United States.

Although Balogun is provisionally cap-tied to England where he grew up, he is considering his international future as he is not in the plans of Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate at the moment.

The 21-year-old has been pictured in Florida, where the United States are preparing for their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches with Grenada and El Salvador.

In quotes relayed by The Mirror, Hudson stated : "As I've said before, we've had dialogue. We've spoken. He's out here having a bit of a break and then some training, and we've had some discussions.

"I think it's been good because it's been an opportunity for us just to share about our program and who we are and what we do and that's it.

"I hope we get the chance to speak to him again. It's been good and I know a few of the guys have spoken to him as well."

Balogun has been in sensational form at Stade de Reims this season, scoring 17 Ligue 1 goals for Will Still's men and that explains why he is being courted.

The Arsenal loanee is eligible to play for the United States because he was born in New York and had previously featured for the country's U18 team.

The striker can also represent Nigeria through his parents.
