Iwobi reacts to Everton's hard-fought 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur
Published: April 04, 2023Alex Iwobi has taken to social media to react to Everton's hard-fought 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park in a Premier League game on Monday night.
The Nigeria international, one of the standout players in what has been a dismal season for the Toffees, started his twenty-ninth consecutive Premier League game this term.
Manager Sean Dyche kept faith with the same starting lineup that held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their last game before the international break, with Iwobi offering support to Demarai Gray in attack.
The Toffees were staring defeat in the face at 1-0 down with stoppage time beckoning, but Michael Keane equalized with a screamer from the edge of the penalty area.
Everton fought back despite going down to ten men following the dismissal of Abdoulaye Doucouré in the 58th minute and less than ten minutes later, they conceded a penalty.
Before Keane turned to Everton's hero, the central defender was the culprit as he fouled Romero in the box and from the resultant penalty, Harry Kane gave the north London club the lead.
Iwobi was pleased with the character shown by his team to come back from a goal down to earn a point, and here's what he posted on Twitter below :
