Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent on the radar of Barnsley
Published: April 24, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Football League club Barnsley have Norway U20 international of Nigerian descent Bryan Fiabema on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fiabema's future at Chelsea is up in the air with his contract expiring at the end of the 2022-2023 season.
At the moment, the promising striker has not been offered a new contract and wants to move on to pastures new in the summer to improve his chances of playing first team football.
Fiabema is keen to try his luck in France, Netherlands or Belgium but his agent is pushing for a transfer to Barnsley.
The Tykes could firm up their interest in the Norwegian-Nigerian striker if they secure an immediate promotion to the Championship, and their target is feasible given that they are fourth in the League One standings with three games still to be played before the season comes to a conclusion.
Since cutting short his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers in January, he has yet to feature in competitive matches for Chelsea's development squad.
Although Fiabema spent a portion of the 2021-2022 season on loan at Rosenborg, he finished the campaign as Chelsea's development squad top scorer with eight goals in all competitions comprising four in the Premier League 2, 3 in the UEFA Youth League and one in the Papa Johns Trophy.
