U20 WC : Inter, AC Milan assure Flying Eagles invitees will be released; duo guaranteed roster spots
Published: April 28, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that there is no cause for alarm regarding the release of Italian-based midfielders Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Victor Eletu to the Nigeria Football Federation for the 2023 World Cup.
With seven games to go before the end of the Campionato Primavera 1 season, Milan U19s are only two points above the red line but have played a game less than three of the four teams below them in the standings.
The Rossoneri want to keep Eletu for as long as possible because of their precarious position in the league.
AC Milan higher-ups have assured the Nigerian Federation that the defensive midfielder will be released for the World Cup latest May 10, in time for the trip to Argentina.
Although Flying Eagles boss Ladan Bosso is unlikely to observe Eletu during the pre-World Cup training camp in Abuja, the highly-rated midfielder is guaranteed a roster spot on the Flying Eagles' 21-man final squad heading to South America around the second week of May.
Inter Milan starlet Akinsanmiro is also highly thought of by the Flying Eagles coaching staff and has locked in a roster spot for the World Cup.
The Nigerian Federation have held high level talks with Inter Milan about the release of Akinsanmiro for the World Cup and the talks went well, with the Nerazzurri promising to release the midfielder by May 10.
Akinsanmiro is a key player for Inter Milan, starting their last eight games in the Campionato Primavera 1 and provided two assists.
