Snapped : Chukwuemeka takes part in group training ahead of Chelsea's visit to Arsenal
Published: April 30, 2023England U20 international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka has been pictured training with his Chelsea teammates before their Premier League clash against Arsenal this coming Tuesday.
Chukwuemeka was not selected in the Blues matchday squad for the visit of Brentford last Wednesday and reports suggested that he was recovering from illness.
The Anglo-Nigerian appeared in training images published by Chelsea on the official website on Saturday, which puts him in contention to play his first game under caretaker boss Frank Lampard.
The former Aston Villa wonderkid has received just one call-up since Lampard's return to the club, against Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League on April 18 when he was an unused substitute.
Chukuwuemeka was left out of the squads for Premier League matches with Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton & Hove and Brentford due to fitness issues.
Also in training at Cobham on Saturday was another youngster with a Nigerian background in Noni Madueke, who has logged only eleven minutes under Lampard.
Chelsea have not won in the Premier League since beating Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on March 11.
