Season over for Ideho as Arsenal permit Flying Eagles invitee to fly back to the Netherlands
Published: May 05, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Flying Eagles invitee Joel Ideho will not play again for the Arsenal teams this season.
The Gunners have permitted the Dutch-born Nigerian winger to fly back straight to the Netherlands after training with the Argentina-bound Nigeria U20 national team this week.
Unfortunately, Ideho will not be heading to Argentina with the Flying Eagles as he has not sufficiently recovered from an ankle injury he suffered in training after the game against Crystal Palace in the Premier League 2.
The Gunners hierarchy informed Ideho that there was no point for him to return to London as he's not one hundred percent fit and should go and spend time with his family in the Netherlands.
It means the promising winger will not make his comeback from injury when Arsenal's development squad face Premier League 2 champions Manchester City in their final game of the season on Saturday.
Ideho is also not in contention to make his professional debut for Arsenal this season, with games against Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers coming up.
The former Ajax Amsterdam youth teamer scored six goals in all competitions for Arsenal U21s this season.
