Report: Napoli increase asking price for 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner
Published: May 11, 2023Napoli have reportedly increased the asking price of the star striker and the club's most coveted asset, Victor Osimhen who has been linked with a move away from Naples.
Osimhen has been pivotal to Napoli's success this season, helping them to secure the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years by registering 23 goals and 5 assists in 28 matches.
The Super Eagles forward is Italian Serie A's top scorer this season and his decisiveness in front of goal has attracted the interest of PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old has two years left on his contract and Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis intends to keep him unless an astronomical offer arrives.
According to Il Matino, Napoli have increased their asking price for Osimhen to 160m euros (£139m) which is 10m more than the initially purported fee of 150m euros in anticipation of a bidding war among interested clubs.
Should any club meet Napoli's valuation of Osimhen, it will be the most expensive sale in the history of Serie A overtaking that of Romelu Lukaku who moved from Inter Milan to Chelsea in exchange for 113 million euros in 2021.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner is Napoli's record acquisition at 70 million euros.
