2017 Super Eagles invitee triple-nominated for Crystal Palace Goal of the Season
Published: May 12, 20232017 Super Eagles invitee Eberechi Eze has been triple nominated for Crystal Palace's Goal of the Season.
The former England U21 international has notched 8 goals in 37 all-competition appearances so far this campaign and three of those strikes - against Leeds United, Bournemouth and Southampton - have made a 12-goal shortlist for the Eagles Goal of the Season accolade.
On October 9, Eze netted the match-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at Selhurst Park.
The Crystal Palace number 10 linked up brilliantly with Odsonne Edouard and Wilfried Zaha before sitting Cooper down and slotting home from the edge of the box.
Against Bournemouth on December 31, Eze doubled the advantage in the 36th minute when he placed the ball beyond Mark Travers after he was teed up by Michael Olise's corner kick.
His second goal in sensational fashion in a 2-0 win over Southampton last month has also been nominated.
Midway through the second half, Eze turned away from two defenders and picked out the bottom corner from 25 yards.
Eze faces competition from Olise, Wilfried Zaha, Vonnte Williams, Anna Filbey, John-Kymani Gordon, Fionn Mooney, Hollie Olding and Asher Agbinone to win the Goal of the Season award.
The Goal of the Season award will be presented at the End of Season Awards evening at Clapham Grand on Wednesday, 24th May.
