PL-bound duo Burnley, Sheffield United interested in Chelsea midfielder of Nigerian descent
Published: May 14, 2023England U20 international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka is being linked with a temporary departure from Chelsea ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
According to TEAMTalk, Chelsea are set to make the promising midfielder available for a loan transfer in the summer.
The report claims that Premier League-bound duo Burnley and Sheffield United have expressed their interest in signing Chukwuemeka on loan.
As part of their Vision 2030 project, Chelsea pulled off a major transfer coup by luring him to Stamford Bridge, beating the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan to his signature.
Chukwuemeka has not gotten much playing time since his arrival at Chelsea from Aston Villa and would be open to a loan move to gain more first-team experience.
The 19-year-old has made just one start for the Blues from a possible 47 in all competitions this season.
Burnley and Sheffield United face competition for the services of Chukwuemeka, with clubs in the Netherlands and Germany also monitoring the situation of the 2022 Euro U19 champion.
He is among three players of Nigerian descent named in the England squad for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup.
