Official: Tri-national RB eligible for Nigeria, USA, England offered new deal by Blackburn Rovers
Published: May 19, 2023With a statement on their official website, Championship club Blackburn Rovers have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.
Rovers are hoping to retain the services of Flying Eagles-eligible right-back Leo Duru, having offered him a new contract.
If the offer is accepted, Duru will put pen to paper on his first professional contract at Blackburn Rovers,
He has been rewarded with a new deal following his impressive performances for Blackburn Rovers U18 and U21 teams over the course of the 2022-2023 season.
Manchester-born Duru began his footballing journey at the Manchester United academy before he was snapped up by Blackburn Rovers at U10 level.
A dynamic modern day fullback he totaled 24 games combined in the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2 in 2022-2023, and was on target once.
Duru also featured in the Premier League Cup and Premier League International Cup.
He is eligible to represent Nigeria, England and United States at international level but has not yet received a call-up.
