Confirmed: 2023 Flying Eagles invitee released by Norwich City
Published: May 31, 2023Championship club Norwich City have revealed their retained and released list at academy level following the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.
According to EFL rules, clubs must upload their list of retained and released players to an online portal before midnight on the third Saturday in May.
The official website of the Canaries has informed that David Aziaya will be leaving the club following the expiration of his contract.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper trained with the Flying Eagles in Abuja in January before the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, but missed out on the final squad after suffering an injury during preparations for the tournament in Egypt.
Aziaya joined Norwich City in September 2021 from the Kinetic Foundation in south London, a programme dedicated to developing young players and getting them into professional academies across England.
Super Eagles stars Joe Aribo and Josh Maja are products of the Kinetic Foundation.
Aziaya spent a portion of the 2022-2023 season on a youth loan at Isthmian League South East Division club Faversham Town to gain experience in senor football.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea schoolboy Dubem Eze will sign a professional contract at Norwich City with effect from July1, 2023.
