'Who else is there?' - PL Hall of Famer urges Man Utd to pay Osimhen's asking price
Published: June 21, 2023Premier League Hall of Famer and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to go all out for Nigerian striker Victor Osimen and pay his asking price.
Osimhen is one of Manchester United's targets this summer as they seek to bolster the attacking department by signing a striker.
England's record top scorer, Harry Kane was their number one target but the club have reportedly pulled the plug on the move due to the hard stance of Tottenham Hotspur's Chairman, Daniel Levy
Thus, the Red Devils are exploring alternatives, one of which is Osimhen.
United boss Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the Super Eagles forward and will like to bring him to Old Trafford but his valuation could impede that.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants 150 million euros from any club that needs his services.
Ferdinand while speaking on the FIVE podcast urged Manchester United to sign the Super Eagles forward as they are short of credible alternatives.
The former England center back believes Osimhen is more proven than Rasmus Højlund who is also on the shortlist of the
"Do it. Look at the market. Who else is there? There's no one ready-made," Ferdinand was quoted as saying by United in Focus.
Osimhen notched 26 goals in the Italian Serie A last season to win the top scorer award and help Napoli to their first league triumph in 33 years.
He is also on the wishlist of Chelsea, PSG and Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich.
